The 3 Days 3 Quote Challenge

Day 1

Firstly, I must thank Maysa Rose and hitherandyond for my nominations to take part in the ‘3 Days 3 Quote Challenge’. It is my first challenge as a blogger and I thought it would be a great way for A Ballet of Life to start 2017. Through my blog and dance experiences, I always want to encourage and motivate people to find the positive side of situations so the quotes I have chosen will involve the same messages.

Here are the challenge rules:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you
  2. Post three quotes each day for three days
  3. Nominate three bloggers per day
  4. Inform the nominees

And here are my quotes for Day I:

❝You have to love dancing to stick to it. It gives you nothing back, no manuscripts to store away, no paintings to show on walls and maybe hang in museums, no poems to be printed and sold, nothing but that single fleeting moment when you feel alive.❞

-Merce Cunningham

❝Talent is God given. Be humble. Fame is man given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful.❞

-John Wooden

❝You have to go to come back.❞

– My Grandma (she would say this to me whenever we had to say goodbye)

I hope you enjoyed my quotes for the day. Here are my first nominees but please don’t feel you have to take part in the challenge, it’s just for fun.

  1. Dear Princess,

I would be honored to participate in you challenge, and I am humbled you thought of me :). I’ll post a bit later, but wanted to let you know how excited I am for this :).

I also love your quotes, especially the one from your grandma. :). Did you find it more exciting to visit her because you were “coming back” growing up?

    Graciously yours,

Shelton! @ Through The Eyes Of The Beholder 🙂

    1. Yes take your time, I did xxx So glad you will be joining me in the challenge.
It was more an encouraging thing she would tell me when I left for school or work. I had to go away so she could look forward to me coming back.
I look forward to reading your quotes. Enjoy xxx Harriet

  2. I need more coffee before I can think of doing this.
Oh, the John Wooden quote is so true. When I was working I used to say, “I am a fabulous singer and a talented actor, that fact and a subway token will get me downtown on a Saturday night.”

    1. Had enough coffee yet lol xx No pressure, it also took me a while to get it done and in the end they have been one of my favourite posts. It’s a good one that John Wooden quote isn’t it. I like yours…. there you go, your first quote done xx lol

      1. Wow..so I am away from home and my hard drive is making ‘crash-like’ noises.

I don’t accept ‘awards’ but I *did* want to send some people your way…other artists, say writers, photographers, as I do believe in supporting young artists. Eesh…house guests and still transferring files to an external hard drive before I crash..I will try to get some quotes up.

  3. love your grandma’s words. True and pure, something sweet to whisper to a child. Her persona comes off as a lovely woman. Thanks for sharing her words with us. 🙂
